Meet the Cope Family…

For the last three years “T” has been a part of our family. He lived with us full-time for 15 months in foster care, and then after reunification with his mom, we spent the next 18 months continuing to build and maintain a strong relationship with T’s family, his mom and grandparents. We have truly become a permanent part of his “extended family” – from picking him up from school three days a week and taking him to his therapies, caring for him during school breaks or when he has been sick, spending the night with us regularly, and taking him with us on vacation. He has continued to call us “Daddy” and “Mommy Angel” and Emily and Anna are his sisters. And now, because of unexpected events, we have been honored to be given the right to fully adopt T through an open adoption with T’s maternal family.
